Looking for Spoken Word Events in New Jersey? VERSES at the Cry Out Loud Cafe in Newark, NJ has a $5 Open Mic every Tuesday hosted by “Truly Godsent”.

Sign-up for VERSUS Open Mic begins at 7:15. VERSUS also hosts a writing workshop that helps talented writers. The Writing Workshop starts at 6:30.

This Spoken Word Event is definitely one to check out. If you are in the New Jersey area or just looking for some hot poetry, be sure to check out VERSUS. New Jersey doesn’t have the exposure that New York does when it comes to Poetry Spoken word venues. That is why it is important to get out and support the places that do offer great talent through Open Mics and Feature shows.

VERSUS offers a $5.00 entry fee that will not only get you LIVE performances, but also a LIVE band, LIVE DJ and great food from the Cry Out Loud Cafe.
