Free Open Mic – Brain Damage Youth Open Mic Series

Looking for a Free Open Mic that the whole family can attend? Soule Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY invites all who have a palate for great Caribbean Soul food and a hunger for great Spoken Word Poetry & Music to visit Brain Damage – A Youth Open Mic Series hosted by John “Chance” Acevedo every 1st Saturday of each month.

BRAIN DAMAGE is a Youth Open Mic that allows the youth and young adults to freely express themselves through Poetry, Spoken Word and Music. Brain Damage Youth Open Mic’s welcome today’s youth to be creative and free their souls of the pressures of today, through speaking and singing out loud. At Brain Damage, everyone is free to speak whatever is on their minds – Shout & Be Heard!

BRAIN DAMAGE gives our youth the ability to be seen & heard. Today’s talented youth are acting out through ART – the art of poetry, spoken word and music.

From tiny acorns, tall oaks will grow.” ~ Luis Bernard

Come out and hear what our youth so desperately need you to hear. Come out and support today’s youth. Listen to their words; hear their song; share in their laughter and cries, as they express themselves verbally – through CREATIVITY.

“Every stage is a canvas for an artist to display his/her art. But there is no artist without an audience. Continue to support the world of art that you love by supporting where it all begins – The Youth” ~ Spoken Word New York

**If you know of any youth in the NY areas that are interested in Spoken Word Poetry and Music, feel free to bring them and join the magic. All are welcome!
